privacy

this is my personal site. here is what it collects when you visit.

analytics

i count page views and a few clicks: which short link you opened on /go, and which photo you opened or moved to on /photos. this goes to openpanel, an analytics tool i run on my own server at analytics.vinena.studio. the requests go through this site first, at /api/op.

there are no cookies. the only thing saved in your browser is your scroll position, for this tab only, so the back button takes you to the same place. openpanel tells visits apart by your ip address and browser, with a key that changes every day. your country and city come from your ip address.

recordings

every visit is recorded: what the page showed, scrolling, clicks and mouse movement. the text on the page is in the recording, since it is my own public writing. anything you type into a field is replaced with stars before it leaves your browser, so your email address is never in a recording. recordings are deleted after 30 days. bots are not recorded.

newsletter

when you sign up, your email address goes to resend, the service that sends my emails, so it can send you a confirmation email. you join the list only when you click the link in it, within 48 hours. to stop spam, the site counts signups per ip address and per email address for 10 minutes, in memory only.

hosting

the site runs on cloudflare, which sees the ip address of every request, as any host does. photos and media load from cloudflare r2.

what i do not do

no ads and no ad trackers. i do not sell or share your data. there are no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds: everything loads from this site and its photo and media domains.
